The full story
Anthropic, the company behind Claude, filed to go public on 26 Oct (ticker ANT). SpaceX listed in June. Four simple questions
- Who sells more? Jul–Sep 2026: Claude $16.8B, SpaceX $14.6B.
- Who grew faster? Against a year earlier: Claude about 12× ($1.4B → $16.8B), SpaceX about 2.6× ($5.6B → $14.6B).
- Who earns more? SpaceX made $2.8B from its business in Jul–Sep. Claude told investors it was "profitable on an adjusted basis" but shared no number.
- Who costs more? SpaceX is worth about $2.0T on the stock market. For Claude, investors talk of about $1.5T at the IPO.
The catch: without a profit number, buyers are paying for growth alone, and that growth is slowing (+45% on the quarter before, after +144%). That's why the talk fell from about $2T to $1.5T.
Also: Claude holds $131.7B of cash (30 Jun), SpaceX $89.9B (30 Sep).
Caveats: Claude's Jul–Sep sales were told to investors (FT, Reuters, CNBC), not filed. The IPO price isn't set. Part of SpaceX's AI sales is computing rented to Anthropic.
