The full story
Did you guess it was this far apart?
Stock market value on 5 Nov 2026, in US dollars:
Nvidia: $4.83 trillion.
Europe's 10 biggest: $3.23 trillion together. • ASML $581B • Roche $393B • Novartis $312B • HSBC $304B • AstraZeneca $293B • Shell $290B • SAP $279B • Nestlé $271B • L'Oréal $267B • Siemens $237B
So Nvidia alone is about 1.5 times all ten. Even Europe's 15 biggest add up to about $4.2 trillion, still less. You need about 19 of them to pass Nvidia.
The catch: value is not profit. It is what investors pay today for profits they expect later. Many of these ten earn steady money from medicine, banking, oil and food. Nvidia's price assumes AI chip demand stays huge.
How we counted: companies listed in Europe. Linde and Arm are based in Europe but trade only in New York; counting them changes almost nothing. Values move every day.
Nvidia trades as NVDA in New York.
